What is GSG?
Green School gardening programme (GSG) serves as a platform to promote physical activities via gardening and raise awareness on the importance of healthy eating culture through the consumption of vegetables within the school community especially the students.
Program's Benefits:
- Education: As teaching and learning venues or tools;
- Economy: As an eye-opener on the potential of agricultural industry as a source of economic diversification;
- Health: As means to promote healthy lifestyles, particularly good eating habits by consuming more fruits and vegetables daily.
GSG'S OBJECTIVES:
- To empower the students to do green school activities through gardening.
- To provide platform for schools to use gardening as teaching and learning resources hence providing opportunities for students to learn in real life context (via hands-on).
- To set a platform for students to learn and appreciate the process of cultivating fruits and vegetables for production, consumption and market, hence gain skills in science, agriculture & entrepreneurship.
- To improve student's awareness on the importance of consuming fruits and vegetables.
